I find that I cannot use the drop-down menus on my file management pages (eg "view") when using Firefox. I can if I show folders tree.

We will check the problem. In the meantime, please try DriveHQ FileManager. It works just like "My Computer", and is a lot faster and has many more features, such as synchronizing files/folders among multiple PCs and users.
