Is this possible with DriveHQ ?

I want a simple FTP site where I can share files with my friends. I want all users to share one home directory, where I have complete control over the folders that appear. I want to give them the ability to read/write to folder A, and read-only from folder B.

If I understand correctly, it's not possible for my users to upload to my FTP without them creating a DriveHQ account first. Is there any way around this? Is this true even if I make a paid account with group licenses?  My friends are lazy and will not visit if they have to register.
